Book review: iOS Recipes

iOS Recipes is a pretty good book, similar in style to iPhone Developer Cookbook published a couple of years ago (but without all of the private API nonsense). The book has lots of good and non-trivial recipes for iOS development, usually in things that will let you quickly improve your existing apps in some way.

I wish they covered more topics in the book, as it is around 200 pages. One interesting idea for a recipe would be the creation of complex table view cells (dynamic heights) while still being performant.

Matt Drance, one of the co-authors of this book, was a long-time Apple Developer Evangelist so you know you are getting good advice on the recipes available here. He maintains a semi-regular blog on Apple related topics, which is a good read if you would like to get some insight from a former Apple employee.
